Following the official reports that estimate the number of victims within Catholic institutions in France at 330,000 since the 1950s, the Church has acknowledged its responsibility and initiated a reparation process with regard to these crimes. They offer victims the possibility of sending a file in which they make a request for reparation. At the very heart of this process emerges a delicate question of compensation. How can one determine the price of stolen childhoods and shattered lives?

The film will tell the unique stories of men and women who have decided to put an end to decades of silence, starting in the French regions with a strong Catholic influence. By asking for compensation, they find themselves at the heart of the invention of "restorative justice" under the impetus of former magistrate Antoine Garapon and his colleagues.
